Here is the list of Winter Intensives! Take a look and see what speaks to you!
Hi beautiful Crewbies! Here I've got all of the necessary Passage documents for you to use at your leisure. Figured it would be WAY easier than waiting for your attention-challenged Crew Momma to remember to print them. haha!
Hello to my new cohort of students and families!
I cannot begin to express my level of excitement as we begin the new school year. There are, undoubtedly, going to be a whole host of transitions, whether those be social (yep, your relationships will shift this year), emotional (I'm sure you've been told again and again that your emotional brain is still developing and impulse control might not be your forte), and academic (high school expectations are a bit different than middle school... and the stakes are WAY higher). Here's what I want you to know upon entering this year: 1- You are now a member of some of the most COMPASSIONATE and HARD WORKING teachers I know. Will the curriculum be tough? Sure. Will we push you to frustration? That's our job. But know that we are unconditional supporters of your success. Just ask any of the alumni and upper class folks (make sure to tell them hello from Ms. Fletcher when you do). 2- Prepare yourself to look at the world in a way you might not have previously considered. Random useless knowledge is not a curriculum I like to push. My goal (and the goal of Team 9) is to provide you with the skills, tools, and resources to be able to think critically about your local and global community. Not sure what I mean? Feel free to ask. I love questions. ♥ 3- Here is my promise to you: I will give you EVERYTHING you need to be successful in my class without devaluing the development of your independence and responsibility. Remember that. And if you ever need anything more, come talk to me immediately. We'll figure it out. What I don't want to happen is that you wait to advocate for yourself at the end of a semester when stress is high and time is short. I'll do my best to recognize those needs, too. With that said, take a deep breath. Plant your feet; settle in to your seat; prepare for the ride of your life! You're about to work towards changing the world. Literally. I send my love to all of you and can't wait to get to know you! All my very best, Ms. Casey Fletcher |
