Hey y'all!
Apologies for not being there with you today. I hope you had a GREAT weekend. I've done lots of thinking and planning around the suggestions you all gave to me on Friday, and I'm excited to start implementing some of those changes! It was such an inspiring day!!! Attached to this post is an introduction to the Greenhouse Effect. I'd like for you to read the packet and answer the questions at the end in the NOTES section of your binder. What doesn't get done in class will need to be completed for homework. Don't worry; we will dig into this on Wednesday when you return. Something about the Greenhouse Effect is confusing and complex. We will work with some interactive tools online and even build a model to help us understand it more deeply. I miss you all and can't wait to see you Wednesday! xoxo, Fletch PS- At the end of class, make sure you're completing your Ticket to Leave! I want you to comment below on the following question: "Write a short summary of how the greenhouse effect impacts global climate. Also, re-answer the Do Now question... is it a "good" thing or a "bad" thing as we currently understand it?"

The greenhouse effect traps in the sun's heat energy through greenhouse gases. This helps regulate global climate, as it keeps Earth at a decent, sustainable temperature that allows for life to survive. So, the greenhouse effect is a good thing, but if abused it can lead to global warming. Yet, that is not the greenhouse effect itself, but the organisms that produce the excess gases.

The Green House effect is a Good and Bad thing. The Greenhouse affect is what makes the planets suitable for life. With it, Earth's temperature is affected. Which makes it a bad thing since it influences Climate Change with the releases of gasses like carbon dioxide and methane.

So right! And I LOVE that you mentioned a couple of key greenhouse gases, like methane and carbon dioxide! Well done, Adry!

The greenhouse effect impacts to global climate by always changing over time based off the sunlight and gases on Earth. This is from constantly changing with the albedo functioning with the greenhouse. Its a good thing that we understand it because we need to know whats going on with our atmosphere and Earth overall.
